Silent Sky Auditions

“Silent Sky” celebrates the legacy of women who dare to break through barriers. Set in the early 1900’s, the show follows Henrietta Levitt, a brilliant mathematician who uses her research at Harvard to redefine fundamental assumptions of space and reveal more accurately our place in the universe. The tight ensemble cast of four women and one man challenges each character to reach beyond what they thought was possible.
Henrietta- 30’s. Full of youth and hope, brilliant, dedicated to her career but not immune to love.
Anne- 40’s. Leader of the work group. No nonsense, driven, but not without a heart.
Williamina- 50+. Senior member of the work group. Witty, smart and fun. Scottish, but she only needs a light accent if any.
Margaret- Early 30’s. Henrietta’s younger sister. Woman of deep faith, sweet, creative. Requires a lyrical singing voice for small amount of singing in the show.
Peter - 30’s. Head astronomer’s apprentice. Intelligent, slightly clumsy in matters of love.
Auditions: July 5-6, callbacks (if needed) July 9.
Cold readings from the script.
Those auditioning for Margaret should be prepared to sing the first verse of the hymn “For the beauty of the Earth” a capella. https://youtu.be/agX7UAY5SxM
