Stage Management
The organizational backbone of a production. This team keeps rehearsals running smoothly, tracks details, and ensures the show is executed consistently and safely from first rehearsal to final performance.
Stage Manager
Assistant Stage Manager (ASM)
Runs the room. Manages rehearsals, calls cues, maintains the prompt book, and keeps the production organized from first rehearsal through closing.
Supports the Stage Manager. Often backstage focused. Helps track props, actors, scene shifts, and backstage logistics.
Technical Operations
The operators who run the technology that audiences see and hear. Lighting, sound, and media are executed live during performances and coordinated closely with designers and directors.
Training provided if needed.
Light Board Operator
Sound Board Operator
Projection / Media Operator
Runs the lighting console during performances. Works with the Lighting Designer and attends tech rehearsals.
Runs microphones, music, and sound cues during performances.
Runs video or projection cues when used in a production.
Backstage & Run Crew
The hands that move the show. This team handles scene shifts, props, costumes, and backstage logistics during performances, keeping everything moving quickly and quietly.

Dressers / Wardrobe Crew
Handles scene changes, set shifts, and backstage movement during performances.
Tracks, presets, and maintains all props during rehearsals and performances.
Assist actors with quick changes, costume maintenance, and backstage wardrobe organization during performances.
Front of House Support
The audience facing team. These volunteers help create a welcoming, organized experience in the lobby and seating areas, supporting ushers and house management.
House Management Support
Assist with usher coordination, lobby flow, and audience experience.
Time Commitment
Commitment varies by role.
